This is me

I've been dancing since I was four years old. I have always loved ballet, but my earliest ballet memories are of the costumes. The roles I dreamed of dancing as a little girl were based on which costumes I wanted to wear - usually the most elaborate ones. My dancing career led me down a more contemporary path, but my love of classical and romantic tutus remains strong.

I learned how to make my first classical tutu my senior year of high school and immediately discovered how easily I gravitate towards the fine detail work of decorating a tutu. For me, spending the time to piece together tiny sections of lace and meticulously sewing beads and rhinestones are part of what makes classical ballet costumes so special.

I started Victory Tutus in 2017 with the idea of creating beautiful, professional level costumes for dancers of all skill levels, body types, and backgrounds.

My costumes have made appearances at YAGP and Universal Ballet Competition, as well as the local stages of several studios both in Portland and around the United States.

"I wanted so badly to study ballet, but it was really all about wearing the tutu."

My first tutus were made with help and instruction from my mom. She had taught herself how to make tutus and other ballet costumes with a BFA in fashion design and a full costume shop at my childhood dance studio as her only resources. Since then I have taken multiple courses with Pamela Martin (Matryoshka Tutus) to further develop my skills and to learn new techniques to provide a higher caliber of costumes to my dancers.

I love the challenge of creating designs that will complement each unique dancer's personality. Every costume is made to last and can be used over and over again. A well made tutu base is an investment, but well worth it for a clean durable costume with a  perfect fit.

In addition to tutus, I also create customizable dancewear and rehearsal skirts. Every piece is fully customizable from the design to the size to the fabrics.
